Unity Health has a new Alert for Behavioural Care Policy effective April 2, 2024. This policy outlines standardized tools and processes for early identification and communication of patients at who may have potential risk of violence towards staff. The policy includes three key components including the Violence Assessment Tool (VAT), Visual Alerts and a Safety Plan. Every staff member should know what the visual alerts and how to respond if they encounter one. Please ensure that your staff are aware of the Alert for Behavioural Care Policy.
