Below is a short survey we are asking you to distribute to the physicians in your department to get their views on the EPR implementation. It should take 2 minutes to complete. Survey results will support our change management discussions during our upcoming MAC retreat on April 17th.

One very significant question in this survey concerns whether people have had Epic training before at other sites. It is possible that those department members will be given the opportunity to “test out” of training. It is critically important that we understand how many of those people exist at Unity, but also to be able to identify them so that they are appropriately given access.

Please note, each leader has a unique survey link, please only share your link with your department. We’re looking to have all responses in, ideally, by April 10.

Your department’s link is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B7QMHKK

Thank you,

Trevor

We invite interested individuals to apply for the Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Lead for the SMH DOM. This is a critically important position that will be action oriented and focus on using the roadmap from the Anti-Racism Working Group to dismantle racism across medical education and patient care. The job description is attached. If you are interested, please submit a letter of intent and CV to [email protected] by May 6, 2024.

Unity Health has a new Alert for Behavioural Care Policy effective April 2, 2024. This policy outlines standardized tools and processes for early identification and communication of patients at who may have potential risk of violence towards staff. The policy includes three key components including the Violence Assessment Tool (VAT), Visual Alerts and a Safety Plan. Every staff member should know what the visual alerts and how to respond if they encounter one. Please ensure that your staff are aware of the Alert for Behavioural Care Policy.

The Alert for Behavioural Care UnityNet page is available with resources for education, implementation and evaluation.

Dear fellow Clinician Teachers,

We are writing to invite you to participate in a research study, entitled “Peer Consultation Program for Teaching Effectiveness, a Pilot Feasibility Study.”

As part of our commitment to further enhance the teaching performance of our Clinician Teacher faculty members, we are conducting a pilot feasibility and acceptability study through the University of Toronto. Should you choose to participate, a Peer Consultant with formal teaching experience would observe one of your small-group teaching demonstrations and subsequently provide detailed formative feedback and educational suggestions. A pre-consultation form and post-consultation survey will be involved.

Please note the following:

  1. This study has obtained REB approval through the University of Toronto
  2. You may count your participation as a part of MOC Royal College Section 2 credits
  3. Your participation in this study is expected to take approximately 2.5 hours
  4. You will be provided a $100 stipend for your participation
  5. All formative feedback will remain confidential
  6. Clinician Teachers will be selected on a first come first serve basis
  7. Study participants must be faculty members at St. Michael’s Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Providence Healthcare or St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre

Please review the attached Study Information Sheet for more information.
