Department of Medicine Weekly Roundup - Thursday Feb 23 - Medical Education Strategic Plan Survey
*Sent on behalf of Dr. Patricia Houston, Vice Dean, Medical Education*
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to invite you to complete a questionnaire that will inform development of a strategic plan for the Office of the Vice Dean, Medical Education, including the identification of strategic priorities and implementation actions. The questionnaire will be open for two weeks, until March 9, 2023.
The Office of the Vice Dean, Medical Education, also known as the Medical Education portfolio, was established in June 2021 to address and support common needs and challenges across the continuum of medical education. The continuum of education is inclusive of the full cycle of learning from application to medical school through completion of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and into lifelong continuing professional development. The Medical Education portfolio aspires to support transformative integration and alignment across the continuum as well as the development of innovative approaches to teaching and learning in health professions education, drawing on the unique strengths and capacities of Temerty Medicine.
This questionnaire marks the halfway point of a strategic planning process that began in November 2022. It is being sent out widely to the Temerty Medicine medical education community as a means of broadly capturing the perspectives and priorities of as many people as possible and offering an opportunity for anonymous contributions to the strategy development. The content of the questionnaire is informed by conversations and feedback provided to date. The questionnaire is anonymous; your responses cannot be traced back to you. It should take 5-10 minutes to complete.
Your feedback is integral to our strategic planning process. If you have any questions or concerns about the questionnaire, please email [email protected] with the subject line "Med Ed Questionnaire.” I thank you in advance for your time and your insights.
Best regards,
Patricia Patricia Houston, MD, MEd, FRCPCVice Dean, Medical EducationProfessor, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain MedicineTemerty Faculty of Medicine, University of TorontoE-mail: [email protected]
