Page 4 of 6: New Incoming Senior Director, Research Operations at Unity Health Toronto

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mani Kang as Senior Director, Research Operations at Unity Health Toronto effective March 6, 2023.

Mani has extensive experience leading research and innovation portfolios in the health-care sector. Mani joins us from Holland Bloorview, where he most recently served as the Director, Research Operations & Business Development and the Co-Executive Director, Innovation for System Partnerships, Implementation & Evaluation. Mani has held previous leadership roles within various Toronto academic health sciences centres including the University Health Network where he oversaw research operations and business development for the diagnostic research portfolio.

Mani holds an MBA from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from York University, and a Project Management Professional designation.

Mani will step into this role as Dalton Charters, who has led the Office of Research Administration for over a decade, retires at the end of March. Dalton has guided our Institute through a time of incredible growth.  He has provided stellar leadership, ensuring that we stay focused on our mission and values while we pursue important and impactful research and innovation. We will have an opportunity to thank Dalton formally prior to his departure and will share more information about this soon.
