Page 5 of 6: Important Updates from the Unity Health Research Ethics Board

Please take time to read the following important updates.

  1. Electronic Research Ethics Board (eREB) Submission System

The Unity Health eREB is now operational and is available for all new study submissions. Visit the eREB Information Page for instructions on creating an account and logging in.

At this time, researchers are invited, but not required, to submit new studies through the eREB.

As of March 15, 2023 all new study submissions must be made through the eREB.

Existing studies (both approved and under review) should continue to submit amendments, renewals, staff changes, SAEs, safety reports, and closures through the REB inbox using the applicable submission forms found on the REB Website

Plans to migrate existing studies into the eREB will be communicated in the coming months.

  1. Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans – TCPS 2 (2022)

The Panel on Research Ethics has released an updated version of the TCPS 2 (2022) in January 2023.  The updated version can be accessed on the Panel on Research Ethics website at TCPS 2 (2022) .  Highlights of the changes can be found at TCPS 2 (2022) Changes .
