- Medical Education Strategic Plan Survey
Physicians and their staff are reminded that the Ministry of Health is changing the in-province insured and related services claims submission period from six to three months, effective April 1, 2023, for services rendered on or after April 1, 2023.
This claims submission timeframe adjustment is outlined in the 2021 Physician Services Agreement. The MOH is implementing similar changes for claims submissions from patients, other health practitioners, community laboratories and independent health facilities. The ministry's current process for reviewing stale-dated claims is also being updated. Physicians currently have six months to submit billings, including any corrections to errors that appear on the error report. These errors are commonly outside the control of physicians, such as patients who don't have accurate health card numbers or version codes. Under the PSA, also effective April 1, physicians will have unlimited time to submit the corrections, so long as they initially submit their billings within three months of the date of service. Therefore, physicians will be able to get paid for services they rendered if it takes longer than six months to get the updated patient data. The ministry also agreed that the submission period for remittance advice inquiries will be changed from four to seven months from the date of the remittance advice, helping maintain the status quo for adjudication of these claims.Log-ins will be the same as last year, you have the option to click “forgot password” and answer 1 of the 3 questions you picked in previous years.
The following courses are mandatory. CMaRS will accept courses if completed any time after December 1, 2022. No courses will be waived.
- Fire Safety and Security
- WHMIS and Health and Safety
- TASHN Privacy
- Domestic Violence
Medical staff are also requested to:
- Complete the Relationship Management form via CMaRS
COVID Vaccines – no upload required - will be listed as a question
Continuing Medical Education (CME) for 2022 - no upload required - will be listed as a question
Sociodemographic questions - same as last reappointment
Mandatory fields: Email, Address, Phone number

Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to invite you to complete a questionnaire that will inform development of a strategic plan for the Office of the Vice Dean, Medical Education, including the identification of strategic priorities and implementation actions. The questionnaire will be open for two weeks, until March 9, 2023.
The Office of the Vice Dean, Medical Education, also known as the Medical Education portfolio, was established in June 2021 to address and support common needs and challenges across the continuum of medical education. The continuum of education is inclusive of the full cycle of learning from application to medical school through completion of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and into lifelong continuing professional development. The Medical Education portfolio aspires to support transformative integration and alignment across the continuum as well as the development of innovative approaches to teaching and learning in health professions education, drawing on the unique strengths and capacities of Temerty Medicine.
This questionnaire marks the halfway point of a strategic planning process that began in November 2022. It is being sent out widely to the Temerty Medicine medical education community as a means of broadly capturing the perspectives and priorities of as many people as possible and offering an opportunity for anonymous contributions to the strategy development. The content of the questionnaire is informed by conversations and feedback provided to date. The questionnaire is anonymous; your responses cannot be traced back to you. It should take 5-10 minutes to complete.
Your feedback is integral to our strategic planning process. If you have any questions or concerns about the questionnaire, please email [email protected] with the subject line "Med Ed Questionnaire.” I thank you in advance for your time and your insights.
Best regards,
Patricia Patricia Houston, MD, MEd, FRCPCVice Dean, Medical EducationProfessor, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain MedicineTemerty Faculty of Medicine, University of TorontoE-mail: [email protected]
