Do you need to sign up for EPIC Research training?   Please review the EPIC research courses below.

Attached are steps and instructions on how to remove the research module from your profile if research training doesn’t apply to you.

1. Research viewer - which allows you to view e.g., retrospective chart review study, but you cannot document or enter study related data in Epic for research.

2. Research coordinator (refers to the level of access not the position itself per se) - who can document and enter data into Epic for research. Examples would include adverse event documentation.

• To act as a signing authority on study meds/tests input by research staff before the orders are visible and active
• PIs can view any questionnaires or smart forms built for specific research studies in Epic
• PIs may need to review adverse events that are documented in Epic
• PIs will place orders for INV Medications in Epic.
• To receive things like admission notifications that are sent to the PI inbox.

The coordinator course is mandatory for anyone who is a PI on HealthCanada regulated research.
