Dear colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the recipients of this year’s Murray Muirhead Award, a distinction that honours residents who embody the spirit and legacy of Dr. Murray Muirhead.

Dr. Muirhead was deeply respected for his exceptional clinical skills, academic excellence, and the deep humanity he brought to his practice of medicine — qualities that continue to inspire our department and our profession. Each year, one resident at each training level is recognized for exemplifying these ideals.

Please join us in congratulating this year’s recipients:

PGY1 – Dr. Hua Qi Li
PGY2 – Dr. Divya Santhanam
PGY3 – Dr. Mitali Chaudary

We are also pleased to recognize this year’s recipient of the J.J. Connon Award, which honours the Chief Medical Resident for their outstanding dedication, enthusiasm, and excellence in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners.

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Huang, whose commitment to education, tireless work ethic, and unwavering support for colleagues and trainees have made a lasting impact. Dr. Huang is widely respected as a compassionate leader and an exceptional role model — qualities that make him truly deserving of this recognition.
