New Staff Profile: The Department of Medicine is delighted to welcome Dr. Charlie Tan, Division of ID, to the active staff!

 Charlie joins the Division of Infectious Diseases as a Clinician in Quality and Innovation and Assistant Professor as of January 1, 2025. Charlie completed his MD at McMaster University, his internal medicine residency at Western University, and his adult infectious diseases residency at the University of Toronto. This was followed by a fellowship in Infection Prevention and Control at Sunnybrook/University of Toronto.  He is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research at IHPME and is expected to complete this by early January 2025. Charlie will fully participate in trainee education and will develop quality improvement projects to optimize the care of persons with infections at St. Michael's Hospital, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Outside of work, Charlie enjoys running along the water to Trillium Park (and is regularly seen in the warmer months leaving the hospital wearing   running shorts).
