- Anju Anand, recipient of the 2023 Dean’s Alumni Humanitarian Award for co-founding the South Asian COVID Task Force (SACTF) to create culturally-appropriate public health messaging early in the COVID-19 pandemic. As well for co-founding the This is Our Shot (TiOS) COVID-19 vaccination campaign, which gained support from a nationwide volunteer coalition of 500+ health care professionals and influencers. And for her work as a cystic fibrosis specialist, to improve the patient experience through the development and use of digital communication tools and channels.

Endocrinology Divisional Leadership Change
Congratulations to Andrew Advani who is the successful candidate for the role of Head, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at SMH. Andrew has been Interim Head since April 2022 and will therefore transition into this role immediately.
Thank you to the members of the Search Committee (Jacqueline James, Dana Whitham, Catherine Yu, Cynthia Luk, Julie Gilmour and Omar Saeed) for their thoughtful input.
Chief Medical Resident Update
With every new academic year, we say goodbye to our Chief Medical Resident. Please join me in extending our sincere thanks to Dr. Grace Wang for the tremendous job she has done over the past year! Her support and advocacy for the residents has been outstanding! We wish her well as she embarks on her GI fellowship.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Orly Bogler, who will become Chief Medical Resident as of July 1! We all look forward to working with Orly!
